Reversible Capes for All Ages (Child and Adult)
My son has been into hero figures this last year to such a degree I had to make him a cape for his birthday. I decided to make it reversible so he could change out characters easily; making it of interest to him for twice as long. I also made it attach with magnets so I would not have to worry about his getting chocked. Not only did it turn out really cute, but he LOVES it.
In fact, everyone I know with kids requests one as soon as they get a look at Will’s cape. It’s become my new favorite “gift” for birthdays and Christmas! It’s cheap to make, doesn’t take long to sew up, has TONS of options for icons, and it is fun to make.

Two Ways to Receive Your Pattern
You can order the standard pattern and receive it via mail. Your pattern will be printed out full-size on 20-pound bond paper. The paper is 36 inches wide. The print version is $8.95 plus $2.50 shipping.
Or, take advantage of our new option to receive your pattern via your email. When we prepare a large pattern to be sent via email we print it in “tile” format. This way your pattern is still full-size when you receive it, but you will be able to print it out on a standard printer. It will require assembly prior to using. The email version is $7.95.
Sizing of Cape Pattern Pieces
The child size pattern contains the following sizes:
- Toddler: age 2-4
- Small: age 5-7
- Medium: age 8-10
- Large: age 12+
The adult size pattern is available in two different size groups.
The first group contains the following sizes:
- Extra Small
- Small
- Medium
The second group contains the following sizes:
- Large
- X- Large
- XX- Large
